Sally Bayley will perform a short piece related to her recently published literary memoir, Girl with Dove: A Life Built by Books. The session will explore the relationship between childhood reading and verbal memory. Working closely with the associations of particular words she encountered in reading Jane Eyre, Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple stories and Charles Dickens’s David Copperfield, Sally will draw you into a world of imaginative etymology: word plots.
Sally will also show and discuss some images created by animator Suzie Hanna directly related to these word plots.
Sally recently shared a blog post with us about childhood reading, which can be accessed here.
