“Noble Savages”, A Biography:

Sarah Watling in Conversation with Sally Bayley

Noble Savages

The author of the first biography of the Olivier sisters, Sarah Watling, looks at the importance of nature and landscape in the lives of her subjects, themselves members of the Cambridge Neo Pagans, and the ways in which a biographer can/should engage with these elements.  In conversation with Sally Bayley, Sarah will discuss solitude and travel as key parts of her experience as a biographer, as well as considering how we understand ‘wildness’ and how to plot lives that resisted scrutiny. The conversation will be accompanied by images of the Olivier sisters and landscapes important to them, and short extracts from Noble Savages.
